USATF Registered Medical Providers

The USATF Medical Provider Registry has been created to establish a set of standards for medical professionals providing care at USATF affiliated events. The program involves a five-pronged process, which results in a registry of medical providers committed to providing a safe sport that maintains only the highest ethical and honorable standards.

Registered medical providers also carry with them the rights and privileges available only to those within the registry. These benefits may include:

  • Registered Medical Provider credential at select USATF national championships, which will be a requirement of any and all medical professionals looking to provide care at those events.
  • Selection to USATF domestic and international team medical staffs.
  • Service at select USATF national championships events.
  • Limited Medical Professional Liability coverage for volunteer physicians and other volunteer healthcare providers providing services in connection with USA Track & Field sanctioned events enrolled in the program.
  • Involvement in USATF High Performance Programs

To become a USATF Registered Medical Provider, applicants must complete a five-part process, which includes the steps outlined below.

  1. Be a current USATF member.
  2. Pass the NCSI background screen.
  3. Pass the NCSI medical licensure screen.
  4. Successfully complete the U.S. Center for SafeSport Training course.
  5. Accept and adhere to the SafeSport Handbook and a USATF Code of Conduct for Medical Providers.
