Club Membership Approval/Activation

Once submitted, a club’s membership application must be approved by their local USATF Association.  Once approved, the club membership will become active and eligible for benefits and competition.

  • Club Requirements
  • Clubs must list all coaches, volunteers and club administrators as part of their application.
  • All of these individuals must be SafeSport Compliant in order for the club to be approved and to remain active.
  • SafeSport Compliance requirements include having a current Individual Membership, a successfully passed background screen, and a successful completion of the SafeSport Course.
  • Clubs who do not follow these requirements will not be approved for club membership, or be covered by the General Liability Insurance policy.
  • All coaches, volunteers and club administrators must remain compliant at all times, or the club’s membership will be deactivated.

Association Designation

All clubs are assigned to a local USATF Association. Assignment is determined by where a club is located.

Club Athlete Representation

A club’s roster should include athletes who reside within the same USATF Association as the club, in order for those athletes to compete representing that club.  Adult athletes may submit a request for an Association Transfer through USATF Connect, if their club is outside of their association of residence. Youth athletes may request a Youth Rule 300 Waiver through USATF Connect.
