• 7:00-7:50 a.m. - Bib Pickup & Check-In (in The Adobe’s Perpetua Conference Room)
• 8:00 a.m. -  Race Start

Cut Offs on course

• 11:15AM at Perpetua Aid #2, Mile 11.1 (soft cutoff)
• 12:45PM at Cummins Aid #3, Mile 17.1 (hard cutoff)
• 3:00PM at Perpetua Aid #4, Mile 24.5 (hard cutoff)
• 5:00PM at the Finish Line (9 hours, 3.4 miles/hr)

Elevation Change

• The course has 5700’ of ascent and 5700’ of descent.

Course Surfaces

Most of the course mileage is very runnable. Trekking poles are allowed after Aid Station 1. The trail segments are all well maintained and generally not exceptionally steep or technical. The 2.7 mile section of beach near the beginning of the race is of course super flat and quick, with a few minor creek crossings. The Oregon Coast Trail section along the shoreline of Yachats is also very fast and flat, consisting of lawn, gravel path and paved road shoulder. After the Hwy 101 crossing, the course is almost entirely dirt singletrack trail and becomes much more hilly as it enters the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. This section is mostly runnable, but includes nearly all of the climbing and descending on the course. Numerous trail sections involve shallow spruce tree roots and rocks to negotiate but is still quite runnable. Footbridges can be very slick, so always use caution when crossing, especially if it’s raining. 

Crew

• Crew are welcome to hike/run to BOTH aid station locations from Cape Perpetua Visitor Center.
• There is absolutely no parking at or near either aid station.
• Parking is $5/vehicle at the Visitor Center or display your qualifying annual NW Forest Pass.
  • Please carpool when feasible.

Note there is minimal/no cell phone service in the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area. DO NOT drive directly to either aid station— there is no parking allowed on site at either aid station.

To access Perpetua Aid Station

walk from Cape Perpetua Visitor Center north along the course for .25 miles on Giant Spruce Trail to the aid station at Cape Perpetua Campground to support their runner (follow the course markings between the Visitor Center and restrooms). REMINDER: The campground is closed and gated for the season- do NOT park at the entrance to Cape Perpetua Campground or anywhere other than Cape Perpetua Visitor Center.

To access Cummins Aid Station

crew may hike/run the 1.5 miles from Cape Perpetua Visitor Center south along the Oregon Coast Trail that parallels Hwy 101 to access the aid station at Cummins Creek Trailhead. REMINDER: spectators/crew may NOT park at Cummins Aid Station or anywhere along the gravel entry road to the Cummins Creek Trailhead, as the road is part of the course and the trailhead is small. 

Poles

Trekking poles are allowed.

Drop Bags

There will be a location at morning check-in at The Adobe to place your bags for Adobe Aid Station #1 and Perpetua Aid Station #2/#4. The race is not responsible for missing, damaged, lost or stolen drop bags or contents. Please ensure your bag meets these rules:

• SIZE - One drop bag per runner, smaller than a 20L daypack, water resistant and made of durable material. Bags that are too large or heavy will not be accepted or delivered to the aid station.

• LABEL - Arrive to the race with a pre-made label adhered/attached to your drop bag that includes your first name, last name and bib number (available on Ultrasignup entrants list) in large bold permanent writing.

• RETURN - Please consider that drop bags will not be returned back to your race staging area until the aid station shuts down after race sweepers arrive. Have your crew grab your drop bags from the aid station if possible.

• CONTENTS - Do not store valuables in drop bags! The race is not responsible for missing, damaged, lost or stolen drop bags or contents.

• FORGOTTEN BAGS - Please note we do not ship or deliver forgotten drop bags. You can arrange to pick up forgotten drop bags from us if we have them. 

Pacers

The event permit does not allow pacers.
