Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where will the meet be held?
A. American River College Stadium located at 4700 College Oak Dr, Sacramento, CA 95841.

Q. Who can enter the meet? 
A. Athletes must be 25 years or older on July 18, 2024.

Q. Does the meet have qualifying standards? 
A. No, the meet has no qualifying standards. Any USATF member (or international guest athlete) 25+ as of July 18, 2024 can participate.

Q. Is food available at American River College Stadium?
A. Yes, there will be food trucks with food available for purchase.

Q. Are showers and lockers available at American River College Stadium? 
A. No.

Q. What's the track surface? 
A. World class 7 year old Beynon track with a new 3 year old topcoat. 

Q. Will the meet provide starting blocks? 
A. Yes; you may use only meet-supplied starting blocks.

Q. What kind of spikes can I wear? 
A. Maximum ¼-inch pyramid spikes only. We perform a spike check before you can compete.

Q. Will throwing implements be provided? 
A. Yes, we will provide at least two implements for each age group in each event.

Q. May I bring and use my own throwing implement(s)? 
A. Yes, you may bring and use your own implement(s), but they must be weighed and inspected prior to the competition and will be impounded until your event(s). More information about implement inspection is available in the Athletes Info section of the meet website.

Q. Will there be poles available for athletes who do not bring their own to use at the meet?

Q. Where can I learn more about American River College Stadium?

Q. When will the final schedule be posted? 
A. The full schedule, including heat times for running events and flight times for field events, will be posted approximately one week after the late entry deadline.  The earliest will be July 5, 2024, two weeks prior to the first day of the meet.

Q. What is the process for entering a relay team? 
A. Relay teams may only enter on-site, however, each member of a relay team must also be entered in the meet as an individual. The normal entry process applies to each team member, including the deadlines. Relay entry forms will be available at packet pickup (see packet pickup for days and times). The fee for relay entries is $60.00 per relay (cash or check). The relay entries deadline for the 4x800 is Thursday, at 10 a.m. The deadline for all other relay entries is 1:00 p.m. the day prior to the relay.

Q. The fee for a relay is listed as $60. Is that fee per person or per team? 
A. Per team, but as noted each member of the team must already be entered in the meet as well.

Q. How do I send proof of age? 
A. If after you complete your entry, the status of entry page indicates “need DOB docs,” then please upload your birthdate verification documents through USATF Connect. More information on USATF's Date of Birth Verification Policy can be found here.

USATF will contact the WMA member organizations of non-USA affiliated athletes to verify their DOB and eligibility for these championships.

Q. Can I add an event or change my time or mark for an event? 
A. Yes, you may do so until the late entry deadline on June 26, 2024. After that date no changes may be made. You can, however, verify your entry, by event, on the Status of Entries page. Events added after the on-time entry deadline of June 20, 2024 are subject to the $60 late fee.

Q. Once I'm at the meet, how do I declare for an event? 
A. At least one hour before each of your track events, sign in on the declaration sheet for that event. For field events you must report to the event venue 20 minutes prior to the start time for your event. For track events, declaration sheets are at the declaration table near the clerking area. For field events, declare directly at the field event venue.

Q. Can I add an event or change my time or mark for an event?

To make changes follow the directions below:

  1. Go to the registration form at https://www.usatf.org/events/2024/2024-usatf-masters-outdoor-championships/registration-form
  2. Click the tab along the top of the form that's titled "Manage My Registration"
  3. Enter the e-mail address you used when you registered (the address at which you got the confirmation e-mail), and the password from the bottom of the confirmation e-mail in the section titled "Managing Your Registration"
    • If you don't have the password from your original confirmation e-mail, you can reset your password by going to the login screen as described above, then click the link titled "Forgot your password" that's located next to the password input box; then follow the on-screen instructions
  4. After you're logged in, click "Update this registration"
  5. You'll see a summary screen for your registration; click the "EDIT" button in the "Events" heading (you may have to scroll down within the registration form to see this)
  6. Make the changes you want to make (again, you may have to scroll down within the registration form to see more); then click the "Update" button to return to the summary screen
    • To switch events:  uncheck the checkbox next to the event you want to remove, and check the checkbox next to the event you want to be in instead
  7. Click the "Checkout" or "Next" button to go to the payment screen
  8. If you made a change that requires payment (such as adding an event), then enter your payment information and click the "Pay" button to complete the changes; otherwise, just click the "Finish" button to save the changes
