2023 USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships Weather Update

As we continue to monitor the air quality weather conditions, it has been determined that the event will remain in a delayed status until 11:00 a.m. All events (Running and Field) will resume at 11:00 a.m. and the published schedule will be adhered to.
 
Although the air quality conditions are forecasted to steadily improve as the day progresses, it is still recommended that caution be used by the parent/guardian when making the decision on activity by the athlete(s).

2023 USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships Schedule Update

Revised schedule for Friday, June 30, 2023. The rolling schedule below is applicable to June 30^th (Friday) events only:

The warm-up area will be available at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023. Please remember that no coaches nor parents are permitted in the warm-up area.

The check-in time for all athletes competing in the 2023 USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships is 45 minutes before the event.

Eligibility Requirements

The 2023 USATF Youth Outdoor Championships is open to 2023 USATF members who fall within the youth age divisions listed below. Athletes can join USATF by visiting USATF.org.

• Qualifying Information: There are no qualifying requirements for the USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships. Any youth-aged verified member may register and compete.
• Proof of Birth: Any athletes competing in a USATF age group championship must have their age verified. Age verification must be processed through the USATF membership portal (USATF Connect) by uploading a copy of your birth certificate or passport. Please allow 5 business days for verification to take place (all age verification for the Outdoor Championships must be submitted by June 24^th). 
• Relays: Each member of a relay team must be affiliated with the registered USATF club in their membership profile.

Fees & Registration Deadlines

Registration is currently OPEN, and can be done through Athletic.net.
 
On-time registration must be done by June 25, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. EST — $10.00/individual event, $40.00 per relay.

Age divisions for the 2023 competition year are as follows:

*Note: Per USATF Rule 300.1 (c) “Athletes must be at least seven (7) years of age on December 31 of the current year to compete at the Youth Athletics or Junior Olympic National Championships.”

** Athletes who are still 18 through the final day of the USATF National Outdoor Track & Field Championships are eligible to compete in the 17-18 age division through that meet. This extended eligibility does not apply to cross country events.

Safe Sport Information

Thank you for your support of USATF’s Safe Sport program to provide the safest environment possible for our athletes and other participants. Please take a moment to review the USATF Safe Sport web page to find comprehensive resources regarding the USATF Safe Sport policy. All participants should adhere to the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code, USATF Safe Sport Handbook, and all Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP) related to the safety and welfare of athletes. This includes the team travel guidelines, which can be found here.

Report a SafeSport Concern

If you see something, say something. You should report any instances of sexual misconduct to the U.S. Center for SafeSport via their online reporting form here. Please report misconduct relating to bullying, hazing, harassment, and physical or emotional misconduct to USATF via our online reporting form here, by emailing usatfsafesport@usatf.org, by calling (317) 713-4688, or by text at 833-9-USATF (987-2834).

Packet Pick-Up

Packet pick-up will be available from Tuesday, June 27^th until July 1^st onsite at SPIRE in the Upstairs Banquet Center of the Indoor Track Building.

• Tuesday, June 27^th - 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

• Wednesday, June 28^th - 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

• Thursday, June 29^th - 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

• Friday, June 30^th - 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

• Saturday, July 1^st - 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

All competitors must wear their assigned bib numbers on the front of their jersey during competition. If an athlete loses the bib number, a replacement may be purchased for a fee of $10.00.

Coaches Credentials

Coaches must be 3-Step Safe Sport compliant and on the coaches registry, indicating that they have met the coaching education standards. For more information, please visit: https://www.usatf.org/programs/coaches/coaches-registry.

USATF YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS COACHES CREDENTIALING PROGRAM POLICY

(revised 2-2021)
The USATF Youth Department announces revisions to the USATF Youth Championships Coaches Credentialing Program Policy. This revision is immediately effective. The USATF Youth Department in conjunction with the USATF Coaching Education Department encourages all coaches to take advantage of the benefits the USATF Coaches Registry Program offers. Please familiarize yourself with coaching education programs and registry requirements at www.usatf.org/programs/coaches and/or contact Matt.Rohlf@usatf.org.

Youth Championships Coaching Credentials shall be issued based upon the following criteria:

• USATF Coaches Registry Member

  • Current USATF (adult) Membership

  • Pass the USATF Background Screening

  • SafeSport Compliant

  • Fulfill Education Standard and submit verification application through USATF Connect

• Listed as “Coach” on the USATF Club Profile

• Must have an athlete or club entered into the current Championship

• Coaches for Unattached athletes are required to adhere to the Coaching Credential requirements for the issuance of a coaching credential.

• There will be no credential allocation limits. Credentials will be issued only upon verification of all listed criteria/mandates. There will be no exceptions.

• Pole Vault access credentials will be provided upon verification of athlete entry and date/time of the event. Date/time will be clearly noted on the credential and access expires immediately upon completion of that event.

Awards

Top eight in each individual and relay event earn medals and All-American honors. The winner of each event will also receive a trophy. Each athlete entering the meet will receive a drawstring spike bag and a reusable water bottle.

SPECTATOR INFORMATION

Admission/Parking

Admission to the 2023 USATF Youth National Outdoor Championship are all digital sales and available to purchase online by June 25^th.  
 
Adult Single tickets for 12 and up are $17.00/day, the 4-day Youth Meet Pass/Tickets are $50.00. 
 
Tickets bought on site after June 25^th will be $20.00 per day and the 4-day Youth Meet Pass/Tickets are $65.00.
 
All children 7 through 11, Adults over 65 and Military personnel will be $10.00/day.  Children under 6 are free.

A concession stand will be open during the meet selling refreshments throughout the hours of competition. Custom championship t-shirts and Team USATF merchandise will also be available to purchase.
