Jarrion Lawson is the son of Carol Lawson. He has a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and a master’s degree in business administration.
In 2012, Lawson was the USATF Junior long jump champion. Even with a hairline fracture in his ankle, he won the long and triple jump state titles during his junior year of high school.
He is a fifteen-time NCAA All-American, and in 2016 set an NCAA career record as the all-time leading scorer in the long jump with thirty-three points. At the 2016 NCAA Outdoor Championships, he won the 100m, 200m, and long jump.
In 2017, Lawson took part in the J.W. Blessings Christmas Charity Event, donating thousands of dollars worth of toys to children in need.
