Son of Michael and Robbie Scantling… His father was a football star and played in college at Valdosta State University… Has a brother named Hunter who played baseball at Florida State… Was a wide receiver on his high school’s football team and caught 13 touchdowns for over 1200 yards his senior year… Studied financial planning and services at the University of Georgia… Went to training camps with the Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars as a wide receiver in the NFL...After being cut by both teams he went into financial planning…In 2019, after a three year break from track and field, he left his job in Jacksonville and moved back to Athens, Georgia to concentrate on the decathlon again under his former UGA coach, Petros Kyprianou… Has a dog named Gary… Is a volunteer coach for Eagle Track and Cross Country Club.
