Caitland Smith is the daughter of Ted Smith and Wendy Adams. She has a sister named Jalen Smith. During high school, Smith was a varsity volleyball player and nationally ranked sprinter. She majored in physical culture and sports, while also a member of National English Honor Society. She spent her freshman and sophomore year running for the University of Texas before transferring to Arkansas State.
