Roberts is a two-time Olympic bronze medalist in the 200m and 4x400m relay having competed at the 1964, 1968 and 1972 Olympics for Trinidad and Tobago and was part of the 4x400-yard relay world record setting team at the 1966 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. Roberts was ranked in the top ten among sprinters in the 200 meters for ten consecutive years and was inducted into seven Halls of Fame in recognition of his athletic accomplishments. In 2012 Roberts was honored as one of the top 50 Legends of Sport in Trinidad and Tobago. Roberts obtained a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina College and a Master’s Degree from Antioch University. He coached track and field at Temple University, Beaver College, and at various high schools and is a certified Masters Official with the USA Track and Field Association and the PIAA. Roberts taught middle and high school for 43 years and has dedicated his life to serving youth.
