The James Grey Award is presented annually to an official who has given a lifetime to leading, mentoring, and motivating others in the various venues of track and field.

Criteria for Nomination

• A Master Level Official in good standing with the association in which they are certified; with the National Officials Committee; and with USATF
• A certified USATF running events official for at least ten years
• Recognized by peers for giving a lifetime to leading, mentoring, and motivating others in the various venues of track and field
• Members of the Officials Hall of Fame are not eligible
