There are two components to the USATF Masters National Grand Prix; there is an Individual Grand Prix and a Club Grand Prix. All Masters Runners, forty years of age or older, may compete in the Individual Grand Prix by joining USATF and registering and competing in one of our National Championships, listed below. There are no qualifying standards to participate in Championship events. Masters runners who are also members of USATF Clubs may participate in the Club Grand Prix. The Masters Grand Prix awards over $70,000 annually in prize money at its Championships. Awards are paid out in terms of 5-year age groups for individuals and 10-year age groups for teams. Age-graded awards are a major component of the individual prize money. Runners who do not place among the top prize winners may qualify for an Elite Performance Medal at Road Championships. Races are spread out across the country and over the year. If you are not already involved, look at the schedule below; pick out a race or two in your area or look further afield for a destination race, perhaps to combine with a vacation. The schedule for 2023 appears below. The annual schedule typically runs from late-November to late-November. The 2023 Masters National Grand Prix Awards will be presented at the last event of the calendar year, the Club Cross Country Championships on December 9, 2023 in Tallahassee, FL.
The schedule for 2023 appears below. For detailed rules, please use the links below the schedule. The Club Grand Prix begins with the National Club Cross Country Championships in San Francisco, California on Dec. 10, 2022, and concludes with the Masters 5 Km Cross Country Championships in Boca Raton, FL on October 7, 2023. The 2023 Masters National Grand Prix Awards ceremony will be held following the day of racing at the Club Cross Country Championships on December 9, 2023 in Tallahassee, FL. Those Championships kick off the 2024 Masters National Grand Prix circuit.
All races above, except the WMA Championships Non-Stadia events, count toward both Individual and Club Grand Prix contests. One non-stadia event (Cross Country, 10 Km Road, OR Half Marathon Road) at the WMA Indoor Championships in Poland can be counted toward the Individual Grand Prix, not the Club Grand Prix. The only teams at WMA are national teams.
