There are two components to the Grand Prix; there is an Individual Grand Prix and a Club Grand Prix. All Masters Runners, forty years of age or older, may compete in the Individual Grand Prix by joining USATF and registering and competing in one of our National Championships, listed below. There are no qualifying standards to participate in Championship events. Masters runners who are also members of USATF Clubs may participate in the Club Grand Prix. The Masters Grand Prix awards over $80,000 annually in prize money at its Championships. Awards are paid out in terms of 5-year age groups for individuals and 10-year age groups for teams. Age-graded awards are a major component of the individual prize money. Many runners who do not place among the top prize winners still qualify for an Elite Performance Medal. Races are spread out across the country and over the year. Look at the schedule below and pick out a race or two in your area or as a destination race, perhaps to combine with a vacation. The schedule for 2020 appears below. The annual schedule typically runs from mid-November to mid-November. The 2020 Masters Grand Prix Awards will be presented at the last event of the calendar year, the Club Cross Country Championships, at San Francisco, CA.
The schedule for 2020 appears below. For detailed rules, please see the 2020 Club Grand Prix Rules. The Club Grand Prix begins with the National Club Cross Country Championships in Bethlehem, PA on Dec. 14, 2019, and it ends at the end of November 2020.
All races above count toward both Individual and Club Grand Prix contests except the WMA Non-Stadia which only contribute to Individual Grand Prix contests.
