Valid: For two calendar years from date of completion (in original year enrolled), expiring on December 31. Renewal Option(s): Must complete the USATF Level 1 Bridge course prior to certificate expiration date. No other course may be used to extend the certificate life. Access to the USATF Level 1 Bridge course requires a separate registration and is provided for 60 days from purchase date. Additional Requirement(s): Must be a current USATF member to enroll in the Level 1 Bridge course and separate enrollment fee applies.

Renewal Option(s): Effective January 1, 2026, Level 1 certificate holders must accrue a minimum of eight (8) CEU hours from any combination of approved USATF courses to maintain their certificate. Members will submit a log of completed CEU courses in their expiring certificate year. Note: Any surplus hours accrued will not roll forward to the next renewal period and only credit for CEU course(s) completed post the most recent Level 1 issue date will be granted. Coaches with a lapsed Level 1 certificate must retake the entire USATF Level 1 Program to be recognized as a USATF Level 1 Coach and regain their eligibility to progress to upper levels of the USATF Professional Pathway.
Exemptions: USATF Level 2 and 3 coaches are exempt from Level 1 recertification, and no action is necessary
Valid: Effective January 1, 2025, certificates are valid for eight calendar years from date of completion (in original year enrolled), expiring on December 31. Renewal Option(s): TBA Exemptions: USATF Level 3 coaches are exempt from Level 2 recertification and no action is necessary. Additional Requirement(s): At time of renewal, USATF membership and SafeSport training must be current, and on-time recertification application filed.
