INDIANAPOLIS -- Winning the Dr. Sander Scorcher invitational women's mile with a world-leading time, Katelyn Tuohy (Stony Point, NY/USATF New York) earned recognition as the third USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2025. Tuohy, a three-time NCAA indoor and outdoor champion for North Carolina State and the winner of the 2022 NCAA cross country title, ran 4:25.54 at the Armory in New York City to take over the world lead for 2025. It was her second-fastest mile ever, and her 4:07.20 en route 1500 time is the fastest by an American this year. Other top performances from last week:
Trey Knight of Cal Northridge moved to No. 8 on the world all-time performer list in the men's 35-pound weight throw with a 24.87/81-7.25 throw at the Nevada Invitational. His mark also made him the No. 2 all-time collegiate performer.
William Jones of USC clocked the third-fastest time ever in the men's 600 yards with a 1:07.52 at Texas Tech's Red Raider Invitational.
