2024 USATF Running Circuit Schedule and Prize Purse Announced

USA Track & Field has announced an 11-event schedule for the 2024 USATF Running Circuit. Now in its 29th year, the circuit is made up of national championship races from the mile to the marathon and consistently showcases the nation’s top road runners.

The schedule is set to kick off in Richmond, Virginia with the 2024 USATF Cross Country Championships on January 20. As a selection event for the World Athletics Cross Country Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, the Cross Country Championships will set the tone for a year of top-tier competition across the country.

Perhaps one of the biggest highlights of the 2024 Circuit are the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon, set to be held in Orlando, Florida on February 3 as the selection event for Paris 2024. The final stop on the circuit is the USATF 5 km Championships in New York, New York taking place during the New York City Marathon weekend on Saturday, November 2.

The top 10 finishers in each race will earn points for their placements as in previous years, with 15 points awarded to first place, 12 to second, 10 to third, then 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 to fourth through tenth place. At the end of this year’s circuit, a men’s and women’s USATF Running Circuit winner will be crowned based on their accumulated point total.

In 2024, the prize purse for the USATF Running Circuit has increased by 50% to bring the total purse to $150,000. Prize money will be split evenly between men and women, with $75,000 allocated to each division. At the conclusion of the circuit, prize money will be broken down as follows:
