Nilsen Clears 6.02m to win Perche en Or Pole Vault Meet

2020 Olympic silver medalist Chris Nilsen cleared 6.02m/19-9 on his first attempt at the Perche en Or pole vault meet in Tourcoing, France, Saturday to break* the American indoor record of 6.01m/19-8.5 set in 2020 at Rouen, France, by Sam Kendricks.

Nilsen had no misses in winning the competition, going over five heights on his first attempts before the record clearance. After opening at 5.54m/18-2, Nilsen made quick work of 5.64m/18-6, 5.74m/18-10, 5.81m/19-0.75 and 5.92m/19-5. His previous indoor PR was 5.93m/19-5.5, set in 2020 and matched last year.
