USATF updates Event Hosting Guidance for cross country and indoor track and field

INDIANAPOLIS — The USATF COVID-19 Working Group has approved an update to its Event Hosting guidance.

The update includes amended guidance on multiple items, including specific updates for cross country, road race, Mountain / Ultra / Trail (MUT) events, and indoor track and field.

In all phases, USATF stresses personal hygiene, face coverings and social distancing. The updated guidance requires face coverings for all event participants and attendees, with limited exceptions.  Until a vaccine is developed, long-term immunity can be confirmed, or a cure is found, there is no way of completely eliminating the risk of fatal infection. This should always be in the forefront when considering return to training or event hosting decisions.

As more information is discovered about COVID-19, the guidance will be amended accordingly. Athletes and coaches are encouraged to visit usatf.org/covid19 regularly for updates.
