Matt Stone joined the Board as the 5-C representative in September of 2025. Matt is an experienced business leader and team builder with a proven track record of driving growth, operational excellence, and culture transformation in both corporate and sports environments. Matt has experience in Olympic and Paralympic sports movement, including time at the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee, USA Triathlon, and other governing bodies, with a keen eye on Athlete Safety.
Matt has spent over a decade in executive leadership, building people-first systems that blend data-driven insight with human-centered strategy. His leadership approach has consistently delivered measurable results, including doubling workforce growth, improving retention, and scaling revenue across multiple business units.
Matt brings to the USATF Board a passion for advancing the sport’s reach and impact at every level—from youth development to national competition—through innovation, strategic partnerships, and a commitment to serving athletes, coaches, and the broader running community.
