Hurdles and starting blocks will be available in the area. Cardio equipment, weights and other training equipment will be available for use. The warm-up room is open during all scheduled practices and two hours prior to competition each day. The warm-up area will remain open 30 minutes after the last scheduled event.
The warm-up area will serve as the warm-up and sports medicine area for athletes. Additionally, there will be space for stretching and jogging around the perimeter.

Medical services will be available during practice times and competition each day in the Medical room (multi-purpose room A) located on the first floor of the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex (adjacent to the warm-up track). All Treatments are on a walk-up, first come first serve basis. No appointment is needed. Medical personnel will staff the Medical room on competition days 90 minutes before the first event until 60 minutes after the last event of the day. Personal Medical can set up in the open space in the warm-up area, as long as their setup does not impede athlete warmups.
Coaches box passes are available to field event competitors. Passes will be made available at first call to all competing athletes in the event, only an athlete will be able to receive the pass, and it is the athlete’s responsibility to provide his/her coach with this pass. To access Coaches Box seating, a Coach must have a Registered Coach Credential as defined in the Accreditation Guidelines and a Coaches Box pass for an event currently being contested. If one or both items are missing, individuals may be asked to leave the designated seating.
Athlete/Athlete Support seating will be located in section 100 of the track in the corner of turn 4. This general admission seating area is open to all credentialed athletes and athlete support personnel. Credentials will not be accepted in reserved seating area.
Athletes competing in Finals of Championship Events may be asked to participate in formal athlete introductions. Time allocations will be accounted for with your final call time and warm-up time provided to you by the clerks. Final instructions for the introductions will be provided to you by an on-field coordinator. Athlete introductions will not disrupt warm-up times for athletes.
For finals of all running races, athletes should expect to proceed from final call “race ready” as they are introduced to the track. From the introduction, sprints will have time to set blocks and distance races will receive the information from the head starter.
For all field events, athletes will be formally introduced as a group prior to their field event warm-up time. At the completion of the warm-up time (typically ~5 mins before the event start time) athletes will be lined up at their event site and introduced in-stadium, competition will begin upon conclusion.
Athletes will be required to go through the mixed zone at the end of their competition. All athletes will be escorted off of the track adjacent to the finish line and led to the Media Mixed Zone. Press and USADA have access to this area.
If athletes are selected for drug testing, they will be notified by a USADA chaperone post-event. The chaperone will then guide the athlete to the appropriate area. Please remember after receiving a doping control notification form, you must immediately report to the Drug Testing Center. Because this is a competition where drug testing may be conducted, athletes should under no circumstances leave the field of play after competition except by being escorted.
Initial protests related to events occurring during the competition must be orally voiced by the athlete to the head of the event immediately. Subsequently, the protest must be formally made in writing, either by the athlete or the athlete’s representative with an athlete support type credential on behalf of the athlete.
The protest must be completed, signed and submitted at the Protest Table (located in the small throwing cage) no later than 30 minutes after the official posting of the results on the USATF website and must be accompanied by a $100.00 cash protest fee. The protest fee is non-refundable unless the decision is reversed. Protest forms and USATF Competition Rulebooks will be available at the Protest Table. The decision of the Referee will be available at the Protest Table and a copy will be available for the athlete filing the protest. The $100.00 protest fee will be refunded for all petitions that result reversal of the Referee’s decision.
An athlete or her/his representative as defined above may appeal the Referee's decision to the Jury of Appeals by completing an appeal form and submitting another $100 cash payment (non-refundable unless the Referee’s ruling is reversed). The decision of the Jury of Appeals is FINAL.
A gold medal, emblematic of the Championships of the United States of America, will be given to the winner of each Championship event, a silver medal to second place, and bronze medals to third place.
Third party filming is not allowed at Ocean Breeze. This includes athletes’ personal film crews, videographers, and social media teams. USATF is unable to provide accreditation for any of these individuals with access to Ocean Breeze, any of our warm-up areas or practice venues. Requests to license competition footage may be made by contacting communications@usatf.org. You are free to capture content outside of these venues.
USA Track & Field is pleased to support integrity in competition, and to announce it has contracted with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to provide anti-doping services at certain USATF Championships, which may include the event you have registered for. USADA is the independent national anti-doping organization in the United States, and runs the U.S. anti- doping program for Olympic, Paralympic, Pan-American and Parapan American movement sports, in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code. USA Track & Field has contracted with USADA to demonstrate a commitment to fair, drug-free, and safe competition. Doping, as defined in the USADA Protocol for Olympic and Paralympic Movement Testing and its Annexes, is against the rules of the Event and will not be tolerated. The anti-doping rules for the Event are set forth in the USADA Protocol and are fully applicable to each competitor, each member of the competitor’s team, and all athlete support personnel involved in the Event. Any violation of the anti-doping rules may result in disqualification and loss of results achieved during the Event, in addition to all consequences that arise in accordance with the USADA Protocol and the Code.
Athletes competing in the Event are subject to blood and/or urine testing for any substance or method on the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List. In addition to testing, USADA is a resource for educational information and will have jurisdiction to handle the results management process of any potential anti-doping rule violation. All Event participants (including competitors, each member of the competitor’s team, and all athlete support personnel involved in the Event) acknowledge and agree that they are subject to the Code and the USADA Protocol, and that they are required to abide by all such rules and by the anti-doping rules of USA Track & Field and the Sanctioning Body. Anti-doping rule violations will be adjudicated in accordance with the USADA Protocol, and each participant agrees that their sole, exclusive, final and binding remedy in relation to any potential anti- doping rule violation alleged by USADA and/or in response to any matter relating to anti-doping, sample collection, drug testing, doping control, results management and/or USADA shall be arbitration in accordance with the USADA Protocol.
As USADA is an independent entity, all athlete questions, or concerns regarding details of the anti- doping program should be directed to USADA. To aid athletes, as well as all support team members such as parents, coaches, managers and paramedical personnel, in understanding the rules applicable to them, USADA provides comprehensive information on its website regarding the testing process and prohibited substances, how to obtain permission to use a necessary medication, and the risks and dangers of taking supplements as well as performance-enhancing and recreational drugs. Athletes looking for information about the testing process can start at www.usada.org/athletes. In addition, USADA manages an athlete hotline which may be used to find answers to drug reference questions at (719) 785-2000, toll-free at (866) 601-2632, and by email at athleteexpress@usada.org. Athletes may also access this information online at www.GlobalDRO.com. For information about dietary supplements, please visit USADA’s Supplement 411 resource at www.Supplement411.org.
