COVID-19 Testing Options

To meet the COVID-19 testing protocol requirements for the 2022 USATF Masters 5 km Championships, participants have multiple options. To help facilitate testing, a few of these options are listed below.

• Option #1 - At-Home, rapid NAAT / LAMP testing (with online results verification and report generation) prior to departure.
  • At-home, rapid NAAT test options: There are several online vendors that sell at-home, rapid RT-LAMP tests for $75, and many offer next-day delivery for $29 or less. RT-LAMP tests / NAATs meet USATF requirements. Insurance companies may now reimburse all or part of the cost of these tests. To locate an online vendor, Google “rapid molecular COVID-19 test” and click the Shopping link. Be sure to purchase a test described as a molecular test and not an antigen test.
• Option #2 - Laboratory based testing options prior to departure. 
  • When making online appointments, be sure that the location performs NAAT testing (e.g., PCR or LAMP). Many locations will verify if testing can be billed to insurance / covered for free. Options may include:

• Option #3 - On-site COVID-19 testing will be available at no cost to participants from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the race expo. Results will arrive digitally prior to the start of the race. Athletes may also present proof of a negative test at race number pick-up. Athletes with positive results are ineligible to compete.
