The 2022 USATF Masters 10 km Championships, hosted by the James Joyce Ramble, will take place Sunday morning, April 24, 2022 in Dedham, MA. This will be the Ramble’s 8th year! Athletes from around the country, as well as New England, converge on Dedham in the early spring. The course winds through the classic New England small town of Dedham. There are some rolling hills, but numerous American records have been set here! The competition is top-notch. The best runners in New England show up, not only to defend the home turf against athletes from California to Georgia to New York, but to show their local rivals who is the top dog.

The centerpiece for the race is the Endicott Estate. Packet pick-up is there the day before and on the morning of the race. Runners warm up on the roads around the Estate and in nearby neighborhoods. After the race, plentiful food and beverage items are provided along with a live band.

The Ramble course is one that is punctuated with early colonial history as well as the historic courthouse where the famous Sacco and Vanzetti trial took place in 1921. Dedham is in the Greater Boston area, just a few miles drive or an MBTA train ride into Boston. Boston is famous for its Freedom Trail and other historic sites. It is home to world renowned universities — Harvard and MIT — not to mention nationally prominent Boston College, Boston University, Brandeis, Northeastern, and Tufts, among others. If you are driving, it is just a few miles to the Blue Hills Reservation for excellent hiking, or to the Minuteman National Park commemorating the Revolutionary War Battles of Lexington and Concord. In addition to the New England Aquarium, there are numerous great seafood restaurants and loads of craft breweries and tap rooms.
