The course starts in front of the Capitol Building and proceeds east on Court St NE. Just before 12th Street athletes turn and proceed back west on Court Street, passing the starting line. When athletes reach Cottage Street they will turn right onto the 1-kilometer loop. Athletes will complete 19 laps on Cottage Street before turning right on Court St NE towards the finish line. The finish line is in front of the Capitol Building.
