Bib & Hip Numbers

Your competitor (bib) number must be worn on the front during all competitions. In addition, all track athletes will be required to wear a bib number on their back indicating their age division. Hip numbers for sprints will be displayed on RIGHT hip. Distance events display on RIGHT hip and RIGHT CHEST. You may pick up your bib numbers during the scheduled packet pick-up times.

Declarations / Final Event Check-in

Final Declarations Deadline

How to declare:  Sign the declaration sheet at the clerk's table (running events); Sign the declaration sheet at the event venue (field events).

Running/Track Events: You must declare at least 60 before the scheduled starting time of your event at the clerk’s table.

Field Events: You must declare at least 20 minutes before the scheduled starting time of your event check in at the field event venue.

Notes:

  • If you do not declare you will not compete! NO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Packet/number pick-up is NOT declaring.
  • For early morning events declaration sheets will be posted the afternoon before. You MUST sign these sheets (declaring) if you are going to compete. Failure to declare means you will be scratched from the event and WILL NOT compete.

Implements & Spikes

  • Spikes: Only ¼ inch “Pyramid Spikes” will be allowed on the competition surface in Albuquerque.  The LOC will have regulation spikes available.  Prohibited spikes include “Christmas Tree Spike Pins” and “Needle Spike Pins.”
     
  • Throwing Implements: Two (2) competition-approved implements will be provided for each competition. Athletes who wish to use their personal shot puts (indoor variety only) and weights ("bag" only) must be submitted to the Implement Inspection area no later than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the event.     Implements must meet all specifications to be allowed for use in the competition. Approved implements will be impounded until the start of the competition.  
     
  • Pole Vault Poles: Pole vaulters need to bring their own poles or make accommodations to borrow them locally.
     
  • Starting Blocks:    Only meet supplied starting blocks will be allowed.  No personal starting blocks will be permitted.

Thursday, March 3 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. East Convention Center - Upper Level
Friday, March 4 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. East Convention Center - Upper Level
Saturday, March 5 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. East Convention Center - Athlete Check-in/Warm-up area
Sunday, March 6 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. East Convention Center - Athlete Check-in/Warm-up area

Records

For appropriate and timely processing of record applications, athletes obtaining a new age division record in an event should be prepared to submit a copy of their birth certificate or passport (driver's license or similar is not acceptable), if not already submitted to USATF with your entry. Please submit to the "Record Processing" area adjacent to the finish line.

Starting Heights

Starting Heights (High Jump & Pole Vault)

Starting heights will be determined by facility equipment limitations and the Games Committee. Minimum High Jump height is 2 feet 8 inches; minimum Pole Vault height is approx. 4 feet.
