USA Track & Field Earns Bronze for Best NGB at Sports Business Awards

INDIANAPOLIS – USA Track & Field (USATF), the national governing body for track and field, long-distance running, and race walking in the United States, earned bronze recognition for Best NGB or Organizing Body of the Year at the 2025 Sports Business Awards held Friday at Old Billingsgate in London.

USATF was also shortlisted as a finalist in the Sports Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award category. competing against leading sports organizations from around the world. The Sports Business Awards recognize achievement by the teams behind the scenes that facilitate sporting excellence, with 670 industry professionals attending the ceremony—one of the highlights of the international sports business calendar.

The recognition comes on the heels of a landmark year for USATF. In 2024, Team USA dominated the medal count in track and field at the Paris Olympic Games with 34 total medals including 14 golds. The trajectory continued at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo where Team USATF claimed 16 gold medals: a championship record. USATF also received the World Athletics Member Federation Award in 2024, recognizing the organization's accomplishments throughout the year and its contribution to the growth and profile of athletics globally.

"This recognition from the international sports business community is an honor for our entire organization—from our athletes and coaches to our staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to advance the sport," USATF CEO Max Siegel said. "Our commitment to excellence extends beyond the track. We're building an organization that champions diversity, equity, and inclusion while setting the standard for governance and innovation in sport. As we approach LA 2028, USA Track & Field will continue investing in programs and initiatives that create opportunities for athletes and communities across America."

USATF earned bronze for Best NGB or Organising Body of the Year, competing against gold winner Abu Dhabi Sport Council, as well as British Cycling, British Universities and Colleges Sport, England Golf, Professional Darts Corporation, and UK Athletics. USATF was also recognized as a finalist in the Sports Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Award category alongside UK Athletics, Community Integrated Care, the ITTF Foundation, Aston Villa Foundation, and others.

USATF's bronze award at the Sports Business Awards underscores the organization's leadership in operational excellence and its commitment to creating pathways for athletes from all backgrounds as it prepares to showcase American athletic talent on home soil at the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
