INDIANAPOLIS -- Bettering her own American record* in the women's shot put, Chase Jackson(Springfield, IL/USATF Illinois) earned recognition as the 25th USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2025.
A two-time world champion, winning at Eugene in 2022 and Budapest in 2023, Jackson blasted the farthest throw in the world since 2013 with a 20.95/68-8.75 on her first attempt at the Iron Wood Classic in Rathdrum, Idaho. That added 19 centimeters to her ratified American record of 20.76/68-1.5 that she set in 2023.
It was Jackson's ninth meet in 2025 with a throw beyond 20.00/65-7.5 and gave her 10 of the top 11 all-time U.S. performances.

Katie Moon won the Born to Run women's pole vault at Chula Vista with a world outdoor leading clearance at 4.83/15-10.
Josh Hoey moved to No. 5 on the all-time U.S. performer list in the men's 1500 with a 3:29.75 to finish third at the Ostrava World Continental Gold meet in Czechia.
Payton Otterdahl won the men's shot put at the Iron Wood Classic with a 22.09/72-5.75, the farthest outdoor throw of the year by an American.
