INDIANAPOLIS -- Winning the Götzis heptathlon title and becoming the No. 2 all-time performer in the event, Anna Hall (Gainesville, FL/USATF Florida) earned recognition as the 21st USATF Athlete of the Week award winner for 2025. Hall, the 2023 World Championships silver medalist and a bronze medalist at the 2022 World Championships, put together the best performance of her career to score 7,032 points and move to equal second on the all-time world performer list. Only world record holder Jackie Joyner-Kersee has scored higher than Hall, and the 24-year-old Hall notched the seventh-highest score in history. Soaring over a lifetime best 1.95/6-4.75 to win the high jump and nabbing another PB in the shot put with a winning 14.86/48-9, Hall closed out the competition with a stunning 2:01.23 in the 800, the fastest time ever run by a heptathlete. She had a margin of victory of more than 400 points as she tied with Sweden's Carolina Klüft's 2007 score for second on the all-time performer list. Other top performances from last week:
Anna Gibson won the women's title at the USATF Mountain Running Championships, covering the 8.2-mile course in 1:22:31, 23 seconds ahead of the next finisher.
