5. What is meant by General Liability Insurance?

An important benefit USATF provides to its member clubs is General Liability Insurance coverage. Liability insurance provides coverage for certain types of lawsuits brought against the club, its officers, coaches and volunteers. This coverage is extended to the regularly scheduled practices of member clubs, provided such practices are filed with USATF in advance and are supervised by a bona fide coach.

6. The facility that we practice at is requiring third party insurance coverage. What does this mean and how do we accommodate their request?

Current Clubs may purchase their 3rd Party Certificates of Insurance for $15.00 each by logging into My USATF Connect, and clicking on the Certificates of Insurance Tab.

7. Are home-based facilities covered?

USATF does not sanction and insure home-based practice facilities under its General Liability Insurance Program offered for club practices. This decision has been made due to the increased liability of insuring such facilities and an inability for USATF to monitor and control the activities and equipment upkeep at those facilities. It is necessary to ensure that USATF remain in a position to provide insurance coverage to its members and, therefore, cannot afford to take any risks that might jeopardize its ability to provide such coverage.
