Start Lists – Coming Soon Live Results – Coming Soon Practice: There will be an open practice window on Friday, May 21st. The Hammer ring will be open from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. All other events can practice from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Implement Inspection: Saturday, May 22nd from 1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Athletes should weigh in implements at least 90 minutes before their event. Spectators: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no fans/spectators at this meet. Coaches/Agents/Medical: Athletes will be allowed to have approved coaches, agents, and medical providers in the COVID Tested Zone. These support personnel must be approved in advance (information on this to come later this week with COVID Testing Protocols) and must follow all COVID Testing Protocols to be in the warm-up area and competition venue.
Testing protocols will be different for Tucson Elite Throws on Thursday, May 20th. Please be aware of emails from Tucson Elite regarding the University of Arizona’s testing requirements. Athletes, coaches, agents, personal medical, and select officials/meet staff (staff whose duties require close contact with athletes) approved to access the CTZ must complete ALL of the COVID-19 testing requirements below:
One negative COVID-19 PCR test within 7 days of the competition. Individuals are responsible for securing and cost coverage for this required test. Recommend www.testfortravel.com to find local test with short turn-around time in your area. Results must be uploaded to an app (TBA) prior to arrival. If an individual meets the CDC definition of fully vaccinated (> 2 weeks after the full course of vaccination), the individual is exempt from the PCR test requirement. Proof of vaccination must be shown on-site.
One negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test at the meet site, administered and paid for by the event. For most meets, there will be two options for completing this arrival testing: a) at the meet hotel the afternoon/evening of the day prior to the event, and b) at the meet facility the day of the meet. All individuals must complete the rapid antigen test, even if fully vaccinated.
Individuals who are not local or traveling in the day of the meet should make every effort to be tested at the meet hotel the day prior to the event.
The only exception to the above testing requirements is if an individual has had COVID-19 (confirmed by testing) in the 90d prior to the event, is >14d since testing positive, and is currently asymptomatic.
Symptom survey and temperature check upon entering the meet facility.
All entrants to the CTZ who have travelled internationally (or are arriving from an international destination for the meet) must either be: a) 10 days since arrival in the US, or b) 7 days after arrival in the US and a negative COVID-19 PCR test on or after day 5 (these are current CDC guidelines, which USATF follows) or c) > 2 weeks after fully vaccinated.
NOTE: Athletes who are competing in both the Tucson Elite Throws (May 20th) and the USATF Throws Festival (May 22nd) must meet both the University of Arizona’s COVID-19 testing requirements and USATF’s. This means that athletes competing in both meets need to receive their pre-competition PCR test on Tuesday, May 18th, regardless of vaccination status.
