Athlete Check-In

There will be separate check-in areas for Running and Field events. Athletes must check in at the designated areas 45 minutes prior to the event's scheduled starting time. All athletes will be required to remain in the designated warm-up areas after checking in.

Awards

Championship rings will be given to individual events and relays for 15-18 age divisions.

USATF National Youth Indoor Championships medals will be awarded to the top six places.

Eligibility Requirements

Age Divisions
7-8 (born 2007-2008)
9-10 (born  2005 - 2006)
11-12 (born 2003–2004)
13-14 (born 2001–2002)
15-16  (born 1999–2000)
17-18 (born 1996-1998)
* athletes born in 1995 are also eligible if they do not turn 19 on or before 8/2/2015
High School (born 1996 – 2000)
* from the same high school or club team














 

Individuals: Only U.S. citizens, aliens living in the United States, and foreign exchange students are eligible to compete in these Championships.  See the USATF rules for more information and exceptions.  A competitor must compete in his/her age division only.   Competitors in the 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 divisions may compete in a maximum of three events, including relays.  Competitors in the 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18 divisions may compete in a maximum of four events, including relays. All athletes must be a  2015 members of USATF in good standing.
 
In the 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 Divisions: the top six (6) finishers at the zonal meet qualify to compete in the 2015 USATF Hershey Youth National Indoor Championships.
 
High School Athletes (15-18) and USATF Clubs and Unattached Athletes 15-16, 17-18 Divisions: may compete in this National Indoor Championship without competing in the qualifying Zonal Meet.


RELAYS

Unique to this Indoor Championship ONLY is combined relays for the 15-16 and 17-18 Divisions for the High School and USATF Member Clubs in the Relays only. This means that all High School members must be from the same High School and will only compete and score against other High School Relay Teams.  USATF Clubs will combine age groups 15-16 and 17-18, but all athletes must be members of the same club and on the club roster in the USATF Data Base.  The 15-18 age group Club Relays will only compete and score against other 15-18 Combined USATF Clubs.
 
All Relays for the 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 Divisions are not combined.
 
All High School athletes that participate must have a 2015 USATF membership number. High School Team Names do not have to be a registered Club of USATF.  
 
Athletes between the ages of 15-18 who compete on a USATF Club must be a member of that club’s roster in order to compete on any of that club’s relays.
 
High school age athletes may participate in this event as unattached, club team members or school team members in individual events.  However you must check with your high school association to determine if you may participate.
 
MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION is located at: www.usatf.org/membership/application. Birth verification must be submitted prior to registration in the meet.

Entry Information

Entry Process: 

Electronic Entries – Registration for the meet is at the following locations:

High School athletes and USATF Club Athletes and USATF Unattached Athletes between the ages of 15-18 register HERE.

Athletes ages 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 Division, who finished in one of  the top six places in their event at their zonal meet, must register HERE.

Remember, athletes must be seven years old by December 31, 2015 in order to compete in this National Championship.
 
The online entry system is available beginning Monday, January 19, 2015 and closes Sunday,  March 1, 2015.  The entry fee is $8.00 per event and $32.00 per relay. Additionally, you must pay your entry fee via the internet using a major credit or debit card (charged as a credit card).
 
All participating athletes will receive NIKE Backpacks.

General Information

IMPLEMENT WEIGH-IN: At the track one hour before each event.

EVENT CHECK-IN: There will be separate check-in areas for Running and Field events. Athletes must check in at the designated areas 45 minutes prior to the event's scheduled starting time. All athletes will be required to remain in the designated warm-up areas after checking in.
 
Packet Pick Up: Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday March 14 and 7:30 a.m. to 1:00pm on Sunday March 15.  All competitors must wear their assigned bib numbers on the front on their jersey during competition.  If an athlete loses the bib number, a replacement may be purchased for a fee of $8.00. *Note: No entry changes/no substitutions/no adds/no new entries will be accepted at the meet site. However, USATF Potomac Valley will correct all data entry mistakes; and all sex and division errors.
 
EVENT RESULTS: During competition, event results will be posted at the track facility.  Additionally, event results will be posted at www.adkinstrak.com.
 
PROTESTS: There will be a $100.00 fee for all protests.  Protests must be submitted to the Protest Referee no later than 30 minutes after a result has been posted.  The protest fee will be refunded if the protest is upheld. 
 
RULES – CONDUCT & FACILITY: The following are not permitted at Prince George’s Sports and Learning Complex:

  • Alcohol
  • Smoking
  • Glass or metal containers
  • Weapons, fireworks, explosives or munitions
  • Laser pointers
  • Gum on the track or the infield
  • Pets
  • Spitting on track
  • No liquids other than water is allowed on the track surface
  • Plastic bottles and coolers are permitted but are subject to inspection by security personnel.


ADMISSION FEES:  $5.00 for Friday.  Three day pass $20.00. Two day pass for Saturday and Sunday $15.00 or $8.00 a day for Saturday and Sunday. Preschool-age children and senior citizens age 65 and older will be admitted for free. Only those coaches who present a 2015 USATF background-checked membership card will be admitted for free. Coaches’ passes will not be issued! 
 
Facilities: 200 meter flat surface, six lanes (8 lanes on straight-way). Fully automated timing will be provided by Adkinstrak Timing Associates. A concession stand will be open during the meet. Only ¼” pyramid spikes are allowed.
  

Starting Heights

Starting heights for the High Jump and pole Vault will be three increments below the Youth Performance Guidelines. Incremental increases will be 5 cm in the High Jump and 15 cm in the Pole Vault.

Pole Vault


Refer to USATF Rule 302.5(n). All competitors must provide their own vaulting poles. Vault athletes must report to be weighed with their bib numbers and poles based on the schedule below. All poles will be inspected for manufacturers’ pole ratings and the maximum top hand hold position as determined by the manufacturer. The competitors’ weights must be at or below the manufacturers’ pole ratings. NO EXCEPTIONS. Poles will be impounded at the time of inspection. Athletes will pick-up their poles and report to the competition site at time of warm-up for the event.

Meet management will not be responsible for any pole that is shipped to or impounded at the meet without a hard protective case.

Weigh-in and pole inspection will take place at the vault venue one hour before each event.
