With more than two decades of history, Greater Philadelphia Track Club has built a strong tradition of competitive excellence across track and field, cross country, road racing and trail racing. The club was originally founded in 2003 as Philadelphia Athletic Charities Track Club before formalizing the organization and adopting its current name, Greater Philadelphia Track Club, in 2008.
Based in the Philadelphia area, the club is made up primarily of Masters athletes while also maintaining a competitive open team. Today, Greater Philadelphia Track Club has approximately 250 members, bringing together athletes with a shared passion for competition and a commitment to representing their club at the highest levels.
That commitment has translated into significant team success. At the USATF Masters Track & Field Championships, Greater Philadelphia has consistently found its way onto the podium, earning multiple team titles and top-three finishes. The club's recent accomplishments include a first-place overall and men's finish at the 2026 Outdoor Championships, along with a third-place women's finish.
The club's success extends well beyond the track. Greater Philadelphia Track Club has also established itself as a force in USATF Long Distance Running competition, earning national titles across the 5K, 10K, 12K, mile, half marathon and cross country.
Rather than specializing in a single event or type of competition, Greater Philadelphia embraces the full range of opportunities available through USATF. GPTC encourages its members to compete wherever their interests and abilities take them!
With another championship season on the horizon, Greater Philadelphia Track Club is already looking ahead to its next major team effort: USATF Club Cross Country & National Championships this December in Norton, Ohio.
