Chair Report - September, 2010 - Gary Snyder
"Building the base, growing the future."
September is a very quiet month. I took the month off from workouts but have recently started up again.
2010 Annual Meeting
The final plans for the meeting are nearly complete and the Executive Committee will meet via conference call next month to discuss the agenda. This years meeting has been shortened by one day and therefore we’ll have less time to complete our business. If you have issues to discuss or bring before the Executive Committee let me know.
WMA Championships in Sacramento
I’ve received a number of excellent suggestions on ways the Sacramento LOC could improve the WMA Championships in 2011. I’m in the process of summarizing the information into a single document that I plan to email to a number of Federation Presidents to gain their input and support. Although the meet is being conducted in the US we have little or no leverage to affect change other than suggestion. I strongly believe that a document signed by four to six WMA member countries will be much more effective.
Although agreement with NSG has not been officially announced, Jim Flanik will travel to Houston on November 14-16 to meet with the NSG chiefs to plan for our involvement.
Please dispel any rumors regarding all aspects of anti-doping testing. MTF does not have a plan other than to begin testing at our outdoor meet. Full discussion is scheduled for the Annual Meeting.
See you at the annual meeting!
