Florida’s Ansin Sports Complex selected for 2019-20 USATF U20 Championships


INDIANAPOLIS -- The USATF U20 Outdoor Championships are set to be held June 21-23 at the Ansin Sports Complex in Miramar, Florida and will return in 2020.


More than 400 athletes aged 17-19 are expected to compete in the three day event. The competition schedule will be available soon.


USATF returns to the facility that hosted the 2014 U.S. Area Youth Olympic Selection Trials which saw athletes ages 16-17 compete for a spot on the Americas Youth Olympic Team for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games. At the event, two American stars were born, Noah Lyles ran 20.89 to win the 200m and went on to win the Youth Olympic Gold medal with a time of 20.80. Rai Benjamin, who last year clocked 47.02 the second-fastest 400m hurdles time in history, won the 400m hurdles in 53.32.


The 24-acre Ansin Sports Complex hosted the 2011 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships and 2014. The facility features an IAAF certified 400-meter eight-lane oval, nine lane straightaway track with a seating capacity of more than 5,000.
