Hall of Fame Nomination Forms

Nominations shall be accepted from anyone in the track & field community. They will be solicited from USA Track & Field (USATF) Associations, committees, and athletes through the regular publications of USATF. Nominations shall be solicited by USATF from the Track & Field Writers Association (TAFWA), all national sports organization members of USATF, and all track & field and/or cross country coaching associations known to USATF and the United States Track Coaches Association (USTCA). There will also be mailings to the current members of the Hall of Fame, releases to the media, announcements to or advertisements in Track & Field News and Runners World, and mailings to the USATF Alumni Association.

The nominations forms one for athletes and a second one for coaches and contributors shall be distributed via the USATF web site. All information on the nominee must fit onto the form, and as complete information as the nominator can provide should be the nominators goal. NOTE: The preferred format for biographical information is a statistical paragraph, detailing all of the accomplishments (and shortcomings) of a candidate, rather than a narrative which is limited to highlighting only a few accomplishments or one major point in a nominees history.

Please do two things before submitting a nomination:

  1. Make sure you are aware of the criteria for consideration, that your nominee meets that criteria, and that your nominee has not already been nominated. Nominations which do not meet the objective criteria will be ruled out of consideration by the Screening Committee; and
  2. Make sure you fill out the nomination form as completely as possible. This may take some effort into research on your part.
