    1. Qualifying marks for the men’s Heptathlon and women’s Pentathlon may be obtained on or after must be attained on or after January 5, 2018 through February 17, 2019.
  4. Fully Automatic Timing (F.A.T.) is the only method of timing acceptable for qualifying marks for events listed with an asterisk (*). Times submitted in hundredths of a second must be fully automatic times.
  5. A manual time may be used for qualifying in events without an asterisk only if no fully automatic qualifying time exists for the individual in that event during the qualifying period. A manual time may not supersede any fully automatic qualifying time for an event.
    1. Women - Qualifying manual times, for eligible events, are the F.A.T. qualifying time without the last zero for events 200m and longer; the F.A.T. time minus 0.14 for events 400m - 1 Mile.
    2. Men - Qualifying manual times, for eligible events, not already listed, are always the F.A.T. qualifying time without the last zero.

For information on what constitutes an acceptable meet for qualifying purposes, refer to the Criteria for a Legal Meet or email duffy.mahoney@usatf.org at the USATF National Office.
  7. All eligible entrants who have a verified mark that meets the posted standard are qualified, regardless of the listed field size. If there is an insufficient number of athletes entered who have met the qualifying standard for that event, the Sport Committee will go down the list of unqualified, entered, and declared athletes only as deep as is needed to fill the field to the listed size. Ties will not be broken.
  8. In order for an athlete to be accepted for entry into the 2019 USATF Indoor Championships, he/she must be a U.S. citizen and eligible to represent the United States in all levels of international competition.
  9. Athletes who have earned Automatic Qualification into the meet under USATF Rule 8 must follow all entry procedures and declarations procedures, and will be counted in that event’s field sizes by the seeding committee.

Note: The Sport Committee Chair may adjust the standards, where necessary, no later than forty-five days prior to the competition, based on received entries at that time. Therefore, early submission of an entry close to the standard is advised.
