About Inika
The 2013 season finally saw McPherson claim gold, clearing 1.89m/6-2.25 to take first at the USA Indoor Championships. McPherson's momentum from the 2013 season carried over into the 2014 season, as she claimed her second consecutive USA Indoor title. McPherson qualified for her first World Championships team in 2011 after a third-place finish at the USA Outdoor Championships. During her senior year at University of California, Berkeley, she claimed her best finish at an NCAA meet with a fourth-place finish at the Indoor championships and topped the PAC-10 Outdoor Championship as well. In 2007, McPherson finished fourth at USA Outdoors, barely missing the World Outdoor team. McPherson was a 1.88m/6-2 jumper before enrolling at Cal. In 2005, she was the NSIC Indoor champion and in 2004, she finished second at USA Junior Outdoors and competed for Team USA at World Juniors. During her time at Cal she majored in African American studies.
