Gray’s decathlon AR wins her USATF Athlete of the Week
Jordan Gray (Ball Ground, Georgia) set an American record (pending ratification) in the women’s decathlon to earn USATF Athlete of the Week.
Gray, who was the silver medalist in the pentathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships and seventh in the heptathlon at the outdoor meet for Kennesaw State, scored 7,921 points at the National Women’s Decathlon Championships in San Mateo, California. The previous American record of 7,577 was set in 2000 by Tiffany Lott-Hogan. Gray’s score moved her to third on the world all-time list and was the highest score in the world since 2006.
