Career Highlights: This year Fattlar rejoined the USATF team at the National Office in Indianapolis after having served as the marketing intern in ‘07.  A significant milestone in Fattlar’s career on the road was reached when he and traveling partner Juris Cooper reached Platinum Status within the LaQuinta Inn Rewards program.  To their disappointment the red carpet isn’t actually laid out upon arrival, but they do receive free room upgrades! Another highlight occurred at the Pilot Travel Station in Westchester, Ohio when a real truck driver began asking Fattlar questions about his “rig.” To Fattlar’s surprise he was able to answer each question without laughing, a sign of a true Road King.  

Fattlar’s claim to fame, and the bane of his existence, is the unlikely coincidence that he looks like Galen Rupp.  Whether it is the random track fan at an event, a high profile agent, or another employee around the office, comments on this chance occurrence are nearly a daily event.

From his time on the road Fattlar feels the best advice he can offer is:  “Always remember to spray the non-stick spray on the waffle iron before pouring the batter in.”
