Rating: Gold based on 6 reviews
Distance: 6.05 miles / 9.73 km
Location: Start: Theodore Roosevelt Area Trailhead
Theodore Roosevelt Area - Jacksonville, FL, US
Attributes: loop, mostly hills, rough trail
Description: This trail run starts at the Roosevelt Area trail head (off of Mt Pleasant Rd.) and winds through three parks(Roosevelt Area, Spanish Pond, & Fort Caroline) and has the steepest hills, roughest trails and best natural views in Jax. You will not be able to follow it as mapped, you'll probably get lost (temporarily), but you'll have a great time if you enjoy this kind of running. Definitely a run for the cooler months in FL.

Ran here for the first time today. Great area. Be prepared for a workout. Lots of elevation changes and changes of direction. Awesome run.

Great course for endurance training. Some of the trails are too narrow to work on speed, but a great course to get some elevation work. Would be a great place for a high school cross-country team to train for hills.

This course is great! It has elevation changes that you cannot find anywhere else in this area. The Green Timicuan course is narrow and full of roots that keep you going side to side and it seems like you will never reach the peak but when you do you know that it is all downhill from there. I have run this course several times this year and my only wish is that it would stay open later than 5 pm. Here is a hint. Park at the Spanish Pond parking area if you have not run this before so your car will be halfway between both areas in case you want a water break or to only do half. Give it a try and you will like it.
