DIRT L.A. Freeway Out & Back

Distance: 7.00 miles / 11.26 km
Location: Start: Rock Canyon Trailhead
Provo, UT, US
Attributes: out & back, mostly hills, unpaved path
Description: This is the short out and back version of the L.A. (Lactic Acid) Freeway. Start at the Rock Canyon Trailhead (not to be confused with Rock Canyon Park) and continue along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail past the Y trailhead and down to Slate Canyon and back. There is water at the trailhead. The route is mostly rolling hills and nothing too extreme. To add length you can continue South toward Springville nearly all the way to Hobble Creek Canyon. The trail also heads North from Rock Canyon and is really great for a bit but unfortunately only goes for about a mile and a half right now. Someday it will all connect from Provo Canyon. Love the dirt, the dirt will love you!
