| Description: |
This is a grass loop for those in Provo when you can't get out to better areas (like N. Orem). Start at the BYU Fieldhouse Indoor Track and cross the street and optionally circling the Football Practice Field behind the Student Athlete Building. From here proceed through the tunnel under the road and go through student housing on the grass to the BYU Track. Circle the track complex and then head to cougar stadium. Run on the grass in front of the stadium and then turn West and head for the Intramural Field, take a lap and head back towards cougar stadium. Run up the grass on the North side of the stadium and get on the dirt path that is found on the East side above the stadium. This dirt path will take you up to the Marriot Center. Run on the grass east to 900 East and hang a right. Follow 9th east past the Elementary School and then cross over in to Kiwanis Park. Take a loop around Kiwanis Park (1 mile-this is a great place to do mile repeats, speed workouts, etc.) and head west toward campus. Stay on the south side of campus and either run on the grass next to the sidewalk or go up on to the path that is half way up the hill. Hang a right before Brick Oven and head back around to your starting point! |

It's hard to find soft surface running areas in Provo but this one is a gem. I used to run this or a variation of it all the time while at BYU. It's a great run for anyone who wants to run soft surface around campus without boring themselves by running laps. Great run, especially for recovery days!
