A weekly run for me. Gives you a taste of Seattle, from the houseboat living, to the Fremont funk, to the disappearing industrial areas, to the University laid back zone. Scattered along the way on the east shore is the rapidly disappearing zone of cottages that look like they are remnants of the era of driftwood characters. Never a dull moment.
Maybe my favorite 10k of them all, this route has a couple of very short hills and the rest is relatively flat, the course is beautiful given it IS "in the city" - the support is great, and this GF gal is told the post-race pancakes are DEE-lish. Oh! Gifts and PRIZES! BTW, those F5 guys? They simply add to the fun.

I would say that this is more than 'somewhat scenic!' The route offers views of the space needle and downtown, sailboats, houseboats, seaplanes, gasworks park, south lake Union park, the center for wooden boats, two bridges...
of this route.
