Also got a little short on my Garmin. I contacted the race director and he replied within 24 hrs stating that while the course had not been certified, it had been measured 3 times in 10 days leading up to the race both by foot and car, and was within a small margin of error. After looking at my downloaded information from the race I also noticed that my watch showed almost a 600' elevation spike on 5th St about 1/2 way down. I did not run to the top of the Carew mid-race. Also I got a shorter distance than you so there is variance with GPS watches. So while I believe the course may have been slightly short, I am not using my Garmin as gospel. Am interested to see it get certified though.
Liked the course. Was fast both ways. Would rate Gold if certified.
I ran the Cincinnati Half Marathon, and only got 13.01 miles. I ran the tangents (which is legal... And the way a course should be MEASURED and run). So... Was this really a USTAF "certified course", or not? The pre-race literature only said that the course "would be certified".
