The race was a fun one. Running down the parade route was fun to have so many people cheer you on. The down side was that they all had better spots already picked out for the parade. I guess next year I need to get there earlier to get a better spot on the shaded side. As for the metal it was very cool and I displayed it for all to see as I went back to the parade route. Hopefully next year I can run it faster and be in the right sex group since they had me down as a female.

Another perspective. I did the 5k run last year with my niece and we agreed to do the 10k this year together. I have to admit that even though I jogged a few 10k's this summer on the river trail I was apprehensive about the rumor of 'killer hills'. As it turned out it wasn't as tough as I thought it would be. Sure, the hills kicked it up a notch, but this overweight novice runner was able to keep a steady jog the whole way. I came in with the last of the stragglers but I wore my "finisher" medal with pride! Thanks to all the volunteers that made it possible for this mommy to do something today that she will never forget! p.s. I LOVE that the medal is a also a keychain! What a wonderful reminder of an eventful day!

Negative 100 This route completely closes off parade route access from the East and Northeast and Southeast making traffic and parking on the West side of University even more difficult. Not to mention trapping everyone on the east side from coming or going. Isn't there something you can do to open up an inlet from the east? PLEASE!
