Great route from beginners to moderate competitors. Residents along the route are the one's that bring the US Navy here EVERY YEAR!

One of the best races, although never the fastest. The crowd makes it fun, if a bit slower.
Also, sponsorship is what makes it gold for me.

I agree. The best part about this route was all the support provided by the residents! We had people clapping & cheering, loud music, folks with water hoses, mist-makers, and sprinklers, a sign that says "raise your hand if you want to get squirted" followed by a supersoaker firing squad ... a small jazz ensemble (I heard them play "NY, NY") a woman's choir (singing the prettiest version of "We are family" that I've ever heard!)
I've done all kinds of walks in various cities, and nowhere have I ever seen such wonderful community support!!!
Being a big girl, I did find the hills to be challenging... BUT I MADE IT!!! :)
