This is a good route with a fast downhill stretch at the beginning. The first mile should be pretty fast. There are some challenging, gradual hills but nothing too steep. There are sidewalks or bike lanes for much of the route. I ran this course a few years ago and had a personal best.

Not a fast course because of the turns, but if you want to challenge yourself in a 10K this is one race you should run.

Isn't there a way to forgo running along Old Fayetteville Road the last kilometer, what with the way non-runners are accustomed to driving on it and it's lack of a sidewalk? I mean, how about extending the course into the Old Mill Village along East poplar Avenue back up North Greensboro Street and entering McDougle from the established pedestrian entrance at the western end of Quail Roost Drive?
