To answer some questions: Bike aid stations are about every 10 miles. They will have water bottle to switch out with water or sports drink. The traffic is not closed during the race. All traffic and USAT rules apply.
If you have further question, please email one of the coordinators listed on the Chelanman website. Have a great race!
We rode the course in anticipation of the race in 2 months to know what to expect. The first 40 miles were beautiful - right along the lake with rolling hills and great visibility. After that 40 things got tough - the hills were never-ending and it was hot hot hot - 90 degrees in the morning. We slogged through the last 18 miles and were rewarded with a flat ride back into the area where the transition will take place.
Two questions we had were: what will the water stations be like? will there be waterbottles to grab and switch out for the ones on your bike? And, is the road traffic closed? Especially on 97 going up the first hill and then down through the tunnel, there was quite a bit of traffic and I would really hope the course is closed for at least one lane? If anyone knows the answer to these questions, we'd love to know! Thanks and good luck to everyone!

I loved this bike ride! The scenery was gorgeous and I thought the first 35 miles were a perfect primer for the vicious hills to come. This was my first Half Iron and I loved it!
