INDIANAPOLIS - Teresa Vaill has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after winning the 2010 USATF 30 km Race Walk Championship Sunday at Rockland Lake State Park in Valley Cottage, New York.

A four-time USA Outdoor champion, Vaill crossed the finish line in 2:31:30 in posting the fastest time of the day by anyone. The men's winner, Dave McGovern, finished almost eight minutes behind Vaill in 2:39:23. While en route to the finish line, Vaill posted pending 25 km and 30 km U.S. records in the W45-59 masters age group.

Now in its ninth year, USATF's Athlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport. USATF names a new honoree each week and features the athlete on the USATF website. Selections are based on top performances and results from the previous week.
