Team USA press conference schedule

Three Olympic Track & Field press events have been scheduled this week at the Main Press Center (MPC) in Athens.

Monday, August 16, Noon (12 p.m.):

Team USA athletes are featured, including:

-2004 Olympic Trials 400m champion Monique Hennagan

- Women's 100-meter runner and 4x100m relay pool member Lauryn Williams

- Women's triple jump American record holder Tiombe Hurd

- Women's discus Olympic Trials champion Aretha Hill

- Olympic Trials heptathlon runner-up Tiffany Lott-Hogan

- Two-time Olympic men's 10,000-meter runner Abdi Abdirahman

- 800-meter runner Derrick Peterson

Monday, August 16, 3 p.m.:

Olympic Shot Put Teleconference

Team USA's men's shot putters will appear on an international teleconference at 3 p.m. local (Athens) time on Monday, August 16.

On Wednesday, August 18, they will compete at the ancient Olympic site in Olympia to kick off Olympic track & field competition.

Additional calling information for the teleconference will be distributed Monday morning.

Thursday, August 19, 3 p.m.:

Team USA head coaches Sue Humphrey and George Williams will discuss the U.S. women's and men's teams heading into Olympic competition. Athletes may participate as well. The press conference will be hosted by Jill Geer. For more information, call Geer at 693-678-6239.
