GROSSETO, Italy - On Monday, July 12, reigning NCAA 400m hurdles champion and 2004 USA Junior 400m hurdles runner-up Kerron Clement along with Andrew Howe Besozzi - Italy, Sally McLellan - Australia and Justine Robbeson - South Africa met with the media at the 10th IAAF World Junior Championships press conference.

The University of Florida sophomore Kerron Clement on his confidence about being the favorite to win gold in the 400m hurdles after his 48.77 performance earlier this year:

"My training has been going well and I am confident to win. This is my first time in Europe and I am having a great time."

Clement on what it will take to bring home a gold medal in the 400m hurdles since the last time it was done in 1988:

"I just plan to be myself and run my own race. I am confident in my training and it has been going well. I am determined to win every time I step on the track. My goal is to get the world junior record."

Clement talking about one of his favorite athletes:

"Edwin Moses is one of my favorite athletes because he has accomplished on international level and dominated. That is what I want to do."
