Starting and Ending Dates/Times
Check-in will take place at Tonopah South on the UNLV campus between 4:00 & 5:30 PM on Sunday, July 8th. Upon arrival, there will be signage directing coaches on where to park, or be dropped off. Conference Services’ staff will also be present to help direct guests. The Level 2 School and Instructor Training Course (ITC) will start promptly at 6:30 PM and all participants must be present at this time.
Alumni dorm check-in is from 1:30-4:30 PM on Tuesday, July 10th, with sessions starting on the evening of the 10th.
The program will conclude at approximately 12:15PM on Saturday, July 14th (July 10th for ITC) following student evaluations of the staff and graduation. Attendance at the closing session is mandatory in order to receive a Level 2 certificate. Please be advised that you should not purchase a plane ticket until you are notified of acceptance into the school. The room and board package does not include housing on the night of Saturday, July 14th.
Sport Science Online Modules for First Time Students
Upon payment, first time students will receive a username and password to access the online Physiology, Training Theory and Sports Psychology lectures provided by Dr. Christine Brooks. This interactive format will allow students to learn at their own leisure and gain invaluable tips from one of the leaders in the online learning industry. It is imperative that students review materials prior to arrival in order to pass the exam for physiology, training theory and sports psychology. All Level 2 participants must check out of their rooms before 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 14th (ITC - Wednesday, July 11th). Housing for July 14th is not included in the room and board package. Please note that departure prior to the closing session will result in the forfeiture of your Level 2 certificate.

The McCarran International Airport is serviced by all major airlines.
Directions to Tonopah- Conference Housing Office (Level 2 Check-In):
From McCarran International Airport: Exit the airport via Swenson Street. Turn right on Tropicana Avenue and proceed east two blocks on Tropicana to Maryland Parkway. Turn left on Maryland Parkway and proceed north to University Road (first red light) and turn left onto University Road. Drive straight down University Road and pass two stop signs. The road will dead end and force you to turn right. Tonopah Hall is the large six-story building on the corner, identified by a large banner saying Conference Housing Office.
From Interstate 15: Exit I-15 at the Tropicana Avenue East Exit. Follow Tropicana Avenue (approximately 3 miles) and turn left on Maryland Parkway. Follow the same directions as listed above to the Conference Housing Office.
From US Highway 93 & 95: Exit the Tropicana Avenue West exit and continue on Tropicana Avenue (approximately 6 miles) to Maryland Parkway. Turn right onto Maryland Parkway and follow the directions as listed above.
Classes and Attendance
Classes will be held in various lecture halls on the UNLV campus. 100% attendance is mandatory at all sessions to earn a Level 2 certificate. Be on time. If commuting, be aware that the Level 2 schedule is rigorous and a commute of more than 30 minutes each day could be very taxing. Typically, at least ¾ of the Level 2 attendees and all of the staff members stay on campus.
Housing and Meals
The room & board package for Level 2 participants includes housing from July 8 through 14 (ITC-July10th) and three-meals per day beginning with dinner on July 8 and concluding with lunch on July 14 (ITC - dinner on July10th). All meals will be served in the Hazel Willson Dining Commons.
Room Check In
Check-In will take place at Tonopah South. Upon arrival, there will be signage directing coaches where to park, or be dropped off.
Check-in is part of the general packet pick-up that takes place on July 8th and July 10th. No early check in or late check out of rooms will be permitted. Please keep this in mind when booking your air travel.
Linens will be provided for all coaches staying on campus. Linens include pillow, pillowcase, sheets, blanket, bath towel, and washcloth. Participants must provide their own toiletries.
Room Key Deposit
A $10 deposit will be required to pick up your room key, as UNLV charges $10.00 for a lost key. The deposit can be by VISA card (preferred), cash or check. Deposits will be returned when we receive confirmation that the room key has been turned in.
All classrooms are equipped with Wi-Fi. The dorms and rest of campus have a Wi-Fi service available for a small user fee. Coaches can also bring their own Ethernet cord to connect to internet in the dorm by securing a password from conference services upon check-in.
Parking permits are $3 per day or $7 per week and are valid at students spots only. Permit purchases can be made at check-in.

The UNLV Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be open to coaches for a small fee.

The temperature during the summer months is consistently between 105 – 110 degrees daily with lows in the 80’s. For coaches not accustomed to the desert climate, it will be very important to drink plenty of fluids and carry bottled water during your stay. The Las Vegas Valley is located at approximately 3,000 feet above sea level and coaches may want to pace themselves until they adjust to the altitude and heat.

Level 2 Refund Policy
No room & board refunds will be given after June 8, 2012. A 50% tuition refund or tuition transfer is available if requested prior to Monday, June 25, 2012. A tuition transfer will be applied as a credit towards the 2013 Level 2 School (The 2013 location has not been selected and rates are subject to change).
